深切悼念創辦人兼名譽主席胡法光博士, GBM, GBS, CBE, OBE, JP 我們謹此沉痛公佈，菱電發展有限公司創辦人兼名譽主席、大紫荊勳賢胡法光博士於2022年6月4日在家人的陪伴下安詳辭世，享年99歲。 胡法光博士生於書香世家，一生勤奮好學。胡博士1952年從英國學成來港，在電梯行業闖出新天，推動本港及內地電梯行業專業化，首創銷售到保養的一條龍服務。胡博士於1966年創辦菱電發展有限公司的前身菱電工程有限公司，其後，菱電逐步發展成為大型綜合企業，業務和投資遍佈香港、中國內地及東南亞。 胡法光博士一直心繫祖國，改革開放初期已經率先回國參加建設和發展，包括機電工程、酒店、房地產、國際貿易等，並成為首批得到改革開放總設計師鄧小平先生親自接見的少數港商之一。胡博士積極支持其故鄉上海的建設，並引薦友好一起參與投資。除了為上海引入先進電梯製造技術外，更長期協助培訓政府及企業幹部。1999年獲上海市政府頒授白玉蘭榮譽獎，表揚他對上海建設及發展的突出貢獻。 胡法光博士是愛國愛港企業家，懷着「取諸社會，用諸社會」的堅定信念，一直盡心盡力為祖國、為香港的建設和發展貢獻智慧和力量。他曾任香港立法局議員、市政局議員、灣仔區區議員、香港土地發展公司首任主席、香港房屋委員會委員、九龍城寨清拆特別委員會主席、香港康樂體育局主席、香港體育學院董事局董事、香港法律改革委員會委員、交通諮詢委員會委員、交通審裁署主席、新機場諮詢委員會主席等公職，還獲中央政府委任為香港事務顧問、香港特別行政區籌委會委員、香港特別行政區第一屆政府推選委員會委員、香港特別行政區基本法諮詢委員會委員、第八屆及第九屆全國政協委員等多項重任，為建設美好未來傾盡全力。 胡博士終身樂善好施，服務社會不遺餘力，特別出錢出力積極推廣體育運動及教育，惠澤社群，獲特區政府頒授金紫荊星章及大紫荊勳章、英女皇頒授OBE及CBE勳銜、日本政府頒授勳四等瑞寶章、香港城市大學頒授榮譽社會科學博士。胡博士一生熱愛體育，除了曾任中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克委員會副會長外，亦長期服務眾多體育總會。我們永遠銘記胡法光博士愛國愛港、服務社會的偉大精神及教誨。 菱電發展有限公司全體同仁深切哀悼。

Hu, GBS, JP is awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal (GBM) for his long and distinguished public and community service, particularly his dedication and significant contributions to the promotion and development of sports in Hong Kong. In the announcement of the government, it said “Mr. HU is a prominent, successful and well-respected entrepreneur with great achievements in the business sector. With his passion in sports, he has made exemplary efforts in promoting sports activities and culture in the education sector. Mr Hu Fa-kuang, GBS, CBE, JP, the founder and Honorary Chairman of Ryoden Development Limited, received an Honorary Doctor of Social Science from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in recognition of his valuable contribution to the Hong Kong society and the promotion and development of sports. Mr Hu has dedicated his life to public services since the 1970s. He has taken up significant roles in many government and public organizations, as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a Hong Kong Affairs Advisor, a Legislative Councilor, the first Chairman of the Land Development Corporation, Chairman of the Consultative Committee of the New Airport, Chairman of the Hong Kong Employers’ Federation, and President of the HK–Shanghai Economic Development Association Limited, Vice President of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, President and Honorary President of many National Sports Associations. In appreciation of Mr Hu’s significant contributions to sports development and his support for the CityU, the University named its sports centre as the Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre in 2010.
菱電發展有限公司創辦人兼名譽主席胡法光先生GBS，CBE太平紳士榮獲香港城市大學（城市大學）頒授榮譽社會科學博士，以表彰他對香港社會及體育界所作出的貢獻。胡先生自七十年代起熱心參與公共事務，曾任多項政府公職及社會事務：全國政協委員、港事顧問、立法局議員、土地發展公司首任主席、新機場諮詢委員會主席、香港僱主聯會主席、滬港經濟發展協會會長、中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克委員會副會長及多個體育總會的會長及名譽會長等。為表揚胡先生對體育運動的貢獻及城市大學的支持，城市大學於2010年將校內運動中心命名為胡法光運動中心。

Mr. Herman HU Shao-ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of RDL Group, was appointed as Chairman of the Council of the City University of Hong Kong (City University) for a term of more than two years from 1 October 2012 to 31 December 2014. Mr. HU served on the Council for more than seven years from 2004 to 2011 and held the position of Chairman of Human Resources Committee from 2007 to 2011.
Mr. Herman HU said: "City University is one of the world's top-notch universities and has nurtured many talents in the past years. I am pleased to receive the appointment and am honored by the Government's confidence in my capabilities. Benefiting from the good quality of staff and graduates I confidently believe City University will continue its robust growth and will scale new heights.”

胡曉明太平紳士（Herman）現任香港菱電發展主席及香港專業及資深行政人員協會（專資會）會長，是電梯大王胡法光的兒子。年青一輩懂得他是單車聯會會長、大型體育活動事務委員會主席，城大及浸大的校董。他推動了體育界的M「品牌」制度及支援計劃，並為香港帶來更多國際體育盛事如早前舉行的世界女排大獎賽，是深受運動員敬重的重量級人物。
除了公職外，他家族與周星馳合作發展山頂超級豪宅「天比高」的建築項目最為大眾矚目，不但獲得香港建築師學會頒發大獎，而成交其中一幢獨立屋已是天價3億。

19 May 2008 Sichuan Earthquake Cheque Presentation to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR |

In order to help the victims in the earthquake occurred on 12 May 2008 in Sichuan, Ryoden Development Limited ("RDL") has passed the cheque for donation of HK$1,000,000 to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR on 19 May 2008.
In addition, RDL also called for donation from all staff to help the victims. In order to raise more donations from our staff, RDL would make a 1-to-1 matching of donation. The second cheque for additional donation of HK$1,080,000, which includes a personal donation of Mr. F K HU, Honorary Chairman of RDL, has also been passed to the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR on 21 May 2008.
Within just one week, RDL and its staff have made a total donation of HK$2,080,000 to help the Sichuan earthquake victims.
